2017 Volunteers Thank you Day

On Monday 12th June 2017 to coincide with national volunteers week we held a Volunteer thank you day. We started with Safeguarding updates before being joined by The Great Raymondo who ran a laughter workshop for us and taught us new skills including balloon modelling and some circus skills.

Without all our lovely Volunteers who are true heroes our scheme would not exist. This was a very small way of us saying thank you to them.

New Swimming Group Starts

In April 2017 our new swimming group started.
Held on Fridays at Harborne pool, families are now able to enjoy swimming with their children with the help of staff members Jane and Izzy.
Families attend six sessions after which we hope they are confident enough to take their children swimming on their own.

New training course to prepare Volunteers

On Monday 27th February 2017 eight new Volunteers started our training course. The course is due to finish at the beginning of May and we look forward to matching them to families.

Volunteer Christmas Bring and Share and Peer Support

On Friday 15th December staff, Trustees and Volunteers got together to celebrate Christmas. This was a lovely chance for old and new Volunteers to meet and for our new Volunteer Representative Sandra to introduce herself.
We were also joined by Edgbaston Rotary Club who presented us with two laptops for the Scheme.

Scheme Christmas Party 2016

On Thursday 8th December lots of our families joined us at St Boniface Church hall Quinton for our Christmas party. We had a bouncy castle, inflatables, a bubble machine, party food and of course a visit from Santa.

Scheme trip to Dudley Zoo

On 27th October 2016 we had another scheme trip this time more local to Dudley Zoo and Castle. For many families attending this was their first time visiting a zoo. It was a lovely way to end our autumn theme at family group which was the zoo.
